The Story of Homegrown Hideaways

Hospitality is our family inheritance

Our story doesn’t begin with blueprints or booking sites. It began 75 years ago in a local fish market and a family remodeling business. It was there, among the salt and the sawdust that Chris learned the true meaning of service, that hard work is a quiet form of respect, and that “luxury” is simply the result of obsessive attention to detail.

A group of nine people, including children, adults, and elderly, smiling for a photo in a European city square with yellow buildings, outdoor cafes, and many other people in the background.
A man holding two young girls in his arms outdoors with a mountain and forest background, smiling.

From the Boardroom back to the Workbench

After a career in corporate America, we realized that our true calling wasn't found in a skyscraper. It was found in the magic of the “welcome.” We wanted to create spaces that didn't just house guests, but moved them. Chris traded his suit for a hammer once more, dedicating the last 20 years to perfecting the art of the mountain retreat.

A man and a woman smiling outdoors with mountains and cloudy sky in the background.
Two young girls with braided hair sitting on rocks by a river, wearing striped blue and white dresses with orange trim, with a dog nearby. Lush green trees and rocks are visible in the background.

The Hideout Dream

We didn’t want to build just another cabin; we wanted to build an experiential escape. A place where you can arrive and never feel the need to leave, because every corner of the property is filled with moments to explore, enjoy, and remember. We spent years searching for this exact piece of land, and meticulously building our unique vision.

The Hideout is the culmination of that journey. It is a radical reimagining of what a forest escape can be. A place where a four-story thrill slide coexists with copper soaking tubs, and where high-end design meets the unbridled joy of a child’s imagination.

Modern hotel room with two beds, mirrored wall, moon phase artwork, starry ceiling, and sliding glass doors.
A large metal tube structure, which appears to be part of a slide or tunnel, runs through a wooded backyard with trees and greenery. In the background, there is an outdoor fire pit area with a circular bench and a fire burning.
Modern bathroom with a copper bathtub by large window overlooking green trees, double copper sinks on a wooden vanity, and a towel rack with folded towels.
